Being a User Interface and Experience Designer I am always trying to find different ways to make things easier for daily life.

My latest attempt to make the user experience comfortable and effective as possible with this sidebar nested category module.

Where a user can switch and select categories.

Problem

We have nested categories for our products like:

R&D

Swiggy has done a fantastic job with it:
Minimum design elements, unique and smooth animation using the FAB (Floating Action Button).

Where a user wants to switch to various food categories.

Swiggy browser menu functionality

In one of my previous project EGIYOK where I follow the same approach in a different way. Simple Segmental Control Buttons where I can switch to various categories.

Where a user can explore the various product of a specific poultry farm.

Egiyok explore category functionality

After countless attempts, I found a sidebar idea for my concept.

rough wireframes in my head

The Discord mobile app is the best reference inspiration for me. How easily a user can switch to different channels/servers with just one swipe.

Final Output

There are two ways to navigate to the category module:

By Swipe the Screen to left

Swipe the Screen to left

By tapping the FAB (they are very hard to ignore).

Tapping the Floating Action Button
